It’s fair to say that the internet loves anything to do with Billy Corgan and a rollercoaster.
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman went viral back in 2015, after a photographer captured his glum expression while riding a rollercoaster at Disneyland. He even discussed the notorious photo in an interview with NME last year.
Now, a new video has arrived online to continue the unlikely love-in between the two. While he isn’t actually present in the latest clip, it sees Corgan’s ‘1979’ vocals being combined with a clip of a roller coaster ride.

As the roller-coaster enters a giant dip, we hear a lengthy shout of “Weeeee” from the singer – and it’s fair to say that the whole thing is a work of genius.
Twitter user @stellamelos is the genius behind the latest creation, which has sparked a load of equally inspired reactions.
“This is the best thing on the internet,” wrote one user.
Others shared similarly brilliant clips involving Joy Division and Queen – which can be seen below.
Original and best.

In other Billy Corgan news, it was recently announced that he’s heading back to the UK for a solo tour this summer.
Corgan, who released his last solo album ‘Ogilala’ in 2017, has promised that in addition to performing his own solo material fans can expect to hear music from the back catalogues of Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan. The star is set to headline venues in Glasgow, Dublin, Luxembourg, Hamburg, Paris, Utrecht, and Bucharest between June 9 and July 8.
Last year, Smashing Pumpkins released ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol.1/ LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun’, an album NME called “a showcase in artful songcraft.”
The band return to the UK to perform at Download festival this June, before heading to Spain’s Mad Cool Festival in July.
