Weezer deny split

Despite rumours to the contrary

Weezer have declared they are not splitting up, despite comments made by singer Rivers Cuomo to the contrary.

On the band have posted a picture of band members Cuomo, Scott Shriner, Brian Bell together and told fans:

“Now please, take those ‘Weezer split?’ headlines and place them firmly into the ‘Don’t believe the hype’ bin. And have yourself a fine afternoon now.”

As previously reported by NME.COM the band’s leader Cuomo announced the group were on hiatus, and suggested they had permanently split, after he said: “For the moment we are done. And I’m not certain we’ll ever make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one.”

There is currently no word as to what the band will do next.
