WEEZER have cancelled their forthcoming UK tour, NME.COM can reveal.

The band had been due to play Manchester Apollo (October 26), London Brixton Academy (28), Birmingham Q Club (31) and Glasgow Barrowlands (November 1).

No official reason has been released yet, though NME.COM understands a reluctance to travel because of terrorists threats to air travel is involved. It is unknown when or if any of the dates will be rescheduled.

The Birmingham date was part of the Radio 1 One Live in Birmingham event.
