Weezer debut new single ‘Back To The Shack’ – listen

The track will be released in the UK on September 22

Weezer have debuted their first new single in four years, ‘Back To The Shack’. Listen below.

The track will be released in the UK on September 22, and is the first to be taken from the band’s forthcoming album ‘Everything Will Be Alright In The End’.

The album was produced by Ric Ocasek, The Cars’ singer, who also produced Weezer’s ‘Blue Album’ in 1994 and ‘Green Album’ in 2001. It’s Weezer’s first album since ‘Hurley’ in 2010.

Drummer Pat Wilson has described the album as a mix between ‘The Blue Album’ and ‘Pinkerton’. In a recent interview, he said: “If you took the ‘Pinkerton’ band and then play all the other records, that’s what we sound like now: bombastic, loose, kind of booming. This record sounds like it’s going to have the tight structure of ‘Blue Album’ with a little bit more abandon like ‘Pinkerton’.”

The band are scheduled to perform ‘Back To The Shack’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (July 23)

‘Everything Will Be Alright In The End’ will be released on September 29.
