Weezer collaborate with Ryan Adams for new album

Frontman Rivers Cuomo reveals the singer-songwriter was 'really inspiring to work with'

Weezer have collaborated with Ryan Adams for their upcoming new album.

In an interview with MTV, frontman Rivers Cuomo revealed that the pair had worked together on a song for the band’s, as-yet untitled, eighth studio effort.

“I just wrote a song with Ryan Adams. Not Bryan, Ryan,” he said. “It’s a very stirring and emotional and powerful Weezer song. He was really inspiring to work with. He has a lot of wild and crazy energy.”

Cuomo added: “It’s gonna be on the Weezer record. He plays lead guitar on it, but it will be on the Weezer record, for sure.”

Set to appear at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, the group also recently released a World Cup song called ‘Represent!’, to support the US national team.
