Westlife are embarking on a whistlestop tour of BRITAIN in support of
their album, ‘COAST TO COAST’ on Monday 6 November, NME.COM can announce.
There’ll be special signing sessions at three Virgin Megastores around
the UK, beginning at midnight at the Buchanan Street Megastore in
Glasgow. From there the boys will fly down to Manchester‘s Market
Street branch for a 7am session, before finally appearing at 3pm at
Virgin‘s new branch in London‘s Piccadilly Circus.
The boys will be hoping to boost sales of ‘Coast To Coast’ – already
predicted to be a big Christmas seller – since both Fatboy Slim and the
Spice Girls are releasing their own albums on the same day. But signing
don’t always do the trick. Victoria Beckham toured a series of branches
of Woolworths, only signing copies of ‘Out Of Your Mind’ that had
already been bought, but still lost out on Number One to Spiller.
Meanwhile Westlife have yet to respond to comments made by Steps, who
accused the record-breaking band of releasing singles in ‘slow’ chart
weeks in order to guarantee Number Ones.
