Wet Wet Wet singer quits band after rehab stint...

MARTI PELLOW has quit Wet Wet Wet and plans to launch a solo career. He has signed a new management deal with formerElton John manager John Reid.

Pellow had been the singer in Wet Wet Wet for 12 years. The band were in the middle of recording a new album when Pellow collapsed in a London hotel earlier this year after a bout of cocaine and heroin abuse. Pellow spent time in the Priory, the celebrity rehab clinic, before announcing his departure to the band.

According to reports, Pellow’s departure was a shock to the remaining members who had just renewed their record deal with Mercury two years ago.
