Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, has been found legally responsible for her death.
A judge in Fulton County, Georgia made the ruling today (September 16) after Gordon failed to appear in court for a wrongful death lawsuit filed against him by Bedelia Hargrove, whom the court had appointed as conservator for Whitney Houston‘s late daughter.
Bobbi Kristina, the only child of Bobby Brown and the late pop singer, was found by Gordon and a friend face-down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home on January 31, 2015. After being kept in a medicallyinduced coma for nearly six months, she died at a nearby hospice on July 26, 2015 at the age of 22.
The judge’s ruling obtained by TheWrap reads: “The court finds Nicholas Gordon in contempt of its March 25, 2016 order. All of Nicholas Gordon’s pleadings are struck and judgment by default is hereby ordered against Nicholas Gordon.”
Hargrove had alleged that Gordon “gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water”. The judge ruled today that because this was the second time Gordon had failed to appear in court for the wrongful death lawsuit, he had pleaded guilty by omission.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death came three and a half years after her mother, one of the biggest pop stars of the ’80s and ’90s, was pronounced dead after being found unconscious and submerged in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
