Band hold off competition from Beck and St Vincent to claim top spot

Wild Beastshave topped this week’s Official Record Store Chart with their new album ‘Present Tense’.

The album beat off competition from Beck and St Vincent to land the top spot.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, London Grammar’s ‘If You Wait’ is at Seven and Neneh Cherry is new at Number Five with her new album ‘Blank Project’. Alongside Wild Beasts, Beck, St Vincent and Cherry there is one further new entry in this week’s chart, with Gnarwolves ‘Chronicles of Gnarnia’ entering at Number 8.

Launched as part of Record Store Day, the Official Record Store Chart reflects sales in the UK’s independent record shops. The chart is made up of sales of albums from around 100 independent record retailers who participate in Record Store Day UK. The full Top 40 features every week in NME.
