The MC will be playing three dates in January after an incident outside The Garage meant his London show was postponed
Wiley has rearranged his current tour, pushing the dates forward until January after last night’s (December 16) show at The Garage in north London was cancelled following an unrelated incident outside the venue the previous evening.
Wiley will now play London on January 27, 2015, with the venue upgraded to the larger capacity Scala in Kings Cross. He has also changed the other two dates on the tour, and will be playing Birmingham Institute on January 30 and Manchester Gorilla on January 31, supporting his most recent album, ‘Snakes And Ladders’.
The grime MC was due to play The Garage on December 16, but promoters postponed the gig after a 25-year-old man was admitted to hospital with a gunshot wound.
A police spokesperson confirmed to NME that at 11:41pm on December 15 officers were called to a disturbance at the venue, located in Highbury. An initial investigation revealed that a man made his own way to a north London hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. His injuries are not life threatening. No arrests have been made, although Trident officers are investigating together with colleagues from Islington Police.
