Watch Will Smith hilariously recreate his son Jaden Smith’s ‘Icon’ music video

Like son, like father...

Will Smith has recreated Jaden Smith‘s music video for ‘Icon’ to mark his son’s ‘SYRE’ album notching up 100 million streams on Spotify.

Jaden released ‘SYRE’ back in November, releasing his video for album highlight ‘Icon’ that same month.

After Jaden reached 100 million streams, his father posted a short video of himself donning grills and recreating shots from the ‘Icon’ clip. Watch below.

“Congrats on 100,000,000 @Spotify streams, Jaden!” Will Smith wrote on Instagram. “It is a Delicious Gift to a Parent to Admire his children. Keep Doin’ You!”

In an album review of ‘Syre’, NME‘s Jamie Milton wrote that the record “shows Smith capable of meshing wild ideas without drowning in self-indulgence,” adding: “Sadly, it doesn’t always play out that way.”

“To expect anything other than overblown big-sky thinking from Smith would be like asking Coldplay to stop being so sentimental. ‘Syre’ packs in genuine talent and the occasional eureka moment. And plenty of wild, frenetic, rambling masterpieces have been made in the past. The record isn’t weighed down by its ideas – it could just do with a filter, a producer with more sway, or even someone in the process to say: ‘Actually Jaden, mate – most trees are green.'”
