Rapper arrived at airport 45 minutes before long-distance flight was due to take off
will.i.am has posted a series of furious tweets aimed at United Airlines, after the airline gave away his seat on a transatlantic flight when he arrived too late to check in.
The Black Eyed Peas rapper arrived at New York’s John F Kennedy airport at 12:30pm on Wednesday, 45 minutes before his flight to China was due to depart. United had given away his seat. Its official policy states that passengers need to arrive at least an hour before take-off.
In a series of tweets, will.i.am said: “Make sure when you fly to China via @united you get to the airport 1 day before because they’ll give your seats away. They just gave my seats away. Wtf.”
Referring to an incident in May, when United ejected him from a first class lounge because they suspected his membership card was fake, will.i.am added: “United is the worst. I should have learned from the last @united experience.”
