Willie Nelson's organisation donates to southern farmers
Farm Aid founder Willie Nelson announced today (September 18) that the organisation will donate funds to family farmers in Texas and Louisiana hurt by the recent major hurricanes Ike and Gustav.
Texas native Nelson said that Farm Aid would donate $7,500 each to the Lutheran Social Services of the South, the Southern Mutual Help Association, the Louisiana Interchurch Conference and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives to help families hardest hit by the natural disaster, reports the Associated Press.
Farm Aid began as a benefit concert in 1985 in Champaign, Illinois, to raise money for family farmers in the United States.
