Barack Obama joins Willie Nelson for awkward performance of ‘On The Road’ – watch

Performance came during all-star tribute concert for US troops earlier this week

President Obama joined Willie Nelson on stage for a performance of ‘On the Road Again’ on Friday night (November 7). See below to watch now.

Obama, who did not appear to know too many of the song’s lyrics, appeared at a White House event honouring American troops with a music concert. Joining Nelson on the bill for the event were Mary J. Blige and Common as well as John Fogerty. Obama’s performance of ‘On The Road Again’ acted as the encore of the gig.

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl recently went on record as saying that Obama is “a rocker, he’s cool”. The Foo Fighters frontman interviewed the head of state for Sonic Highways, the TV documentary accompanying the album of the same name, which is released on Monday (November 10).

Grohl made his comments while speaking to NME for a major feature in this week’s issue, which is on newsstands and available digitally now.
