Wiz Khalifa performed his hit single ‘See You Again’ with Charlie Puth on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. Watch their performance below, now.
The song is a tribute to the late Paul Walker and plays over a Walker montage in the hit movie Fast & Furious 7, which Walker was half way to completing at the time of his death. “I was really honoured to be asked to be a part of this song in paying tribute to Paul Walker,” said Wiz in a statement. I hope we did him proud.”
‘See You Again’ recently broke the Spotify record for most plays in a day and week and subsequently became the UK’s all-time most streamed record, racking up a massive 3.72 million listens in a week last month (April). This surpassed the same record the song broke the week before with 3.68m streams.
Chairman and CEO of Khalifa’s label Atlantic Records, Craig Kallman, recently described the song as “one of those special moments when all the forces have aligned to create a song that is resonating emotionally with millions around the world. The combination of Wiz’s star power with the introduction of Charlie as a brilliant singer and songwriter is truly magical, striking a nerve with Paul Walker’s legion of fans and the film’s enormous audience”.
Khalifa also performed his song ‘We Dem Boyz’ on SNL and appeared in two sketches alongside host Scarlett Johansson.
