The rapper, who is scheduled to release his new album ‘Blacc Hollywood’ later this year, has been working on tracks with both the ’21’ singer and Miley Cyrus – although he previously revealed in 2013 that he was yet to receive clearance to put either collaboration on his LP.
Speaking to Rap-Up about Adele and his new music, Khalifa says, “That didn’t make the album,” adding; “It was like an idea…Maybe we’ll get to do a remix or something.”
He continued: “‘Blacc Hollywood’ in general is going to be sonically something that people kinda expect, but it’s like they want it, so it’s gonna be a good thing for me to deliver,”
Speaking earlier this year, Khalifa revealed that he and Adele had first met when the singer approached his wife Amber Rose at the Grammys. “She ran up on Amber,” he said. “She was like ‘Amber! Amber!’ and told her how beautiful she looked.
“Her people contacted some of my people when they found out we were working on the album and sent some ideas through, so we were able to knock some things out.”
Adele’s last new material was her Oscar-winning Bond theme ‘Skyfall’, which came out last October. In the past, she’s contributed vocals to tracks by The Raconteurs, Daniel Merriweather and Jack Peñate.
In April of this year, it was reported that Adele had started work on her follow-up to her blockbuster 2011 album ’21’, which has now sold over 26 million copies worldwide. According to the report, the singer was in the studio with Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and singer-songwriter Kid Harpoon, who has previously worked with Florence & The Machine and Jessie Ware.
