Band release their debut album 'My Love Is Cool' in June
Wolf Alice pay tribute to friendship in the video for their new single ‘Bros’.
The track will appear on Wolf Alice’s debut album ‘My Love Is Cool’, released on June 22, and the band have premiered the accompanying video today (May 28).
Filmed in Finsbury Park and Holloway, north London, where singer Ellie Rowsell grew up the video was directed by ‘Sblood, the team behind the band’’s ‘Giant Peach’ video.
“It’s an ode to childhood imagination and friendship and all the charm that comes with that”, says Rowsell of the video which shows two young girls playing together in a local park and cafe.
Wolf Alice tour in September, including their biggest headline show to date. The band will head out on the road in September, following the release of ‘My Love Is Cool’ in June and a busy festival season. Starting in Bristol on September 16 the group will then visit Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Southampton and Manchester.
The tour concludes on September 26 with a homecoming London gig at O2 Academy Brixton. The gig will mark Wolf Alice’s biggest UK headline gig to date.
The band recently spoke to NME about the mix of genres on their Mike Crossey-produced debut album, saying “it’s 100 per cent not a grunge record” and that it “will surprise people”.
Ellie Rowsell detailed the band’s experimentation on the record, which will be their first release since 2014’s ‘Creature Songs’ EP. “It’s 100 percent not a grunge record. It’s a much braver record than that,” Rowsell said. “There’s a mix of genres on it. We’re using our instruments in different ways, like Joff [Oddie] using his guitar as a synth.”
