Wolf Alice announce UK tour including biggest headline shows to date

Band will headline O2 Academy Brixton during run of September live dates

Wolf Alice have announced details of a forthcoming UK tour in September, including their biggest headline show to date.

The band will head out on the road in September, following the release of debut album ‘My Love Is Cool’ in June and a busy festival season. Starting in Bristol on September 16 the group will then visit Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Southampton and Manchester.

The tour concludes on September 26 with a homecoming London gig at O2 Academy Brixton. The gig will mark Wolf Alice’s biggest UK headline gig to date.

The band recently spoke to NME about the mix of genres on their Mike Crossey-produced debut album, saying “it’s 100 per cent not a grunge record” and that it “will surprise people”.

Ellie Rowsell detailed the band’s experimentation on the record, which will be their first release since 2014’s ‘Creature Songs’ EP. “It’s 100 percent not a grunge record. It’s a much braver record than that,” Rowsell said. “There’s a mix of genres on it. We’re using our instruments in different ways, like Joff [Oddie] using his guitar as a synth.” Watch the video for ‘Giant Peach’ below.
