Wolf Alice have responded to their track ‘Silk’ featuring in the celebrated trailer for the new ‘Trainspotting 2’ movie – saying that the honour really ‘means a lot’.
Yesterday, the full trailer for ‘Trainspotting 2’ or ‘T2’ was unveiled – thrilling fans by containing the core of the original cast members and bringing things up to date to 2017 with a new monologue fitting for these times.
Not only that, but it seems the legendary soundtrack has been modernised too – with the trailer featuring Wolf Alice’s ‘Silk’.
Reacting to their inclusion on Twitter, bassist Theo Ellis said:
Being in the new transporting trailer really means a lot, just had a "moment" in my ma's living room.

Fuck sake, "Trainspotting", grammar hindering all emotional events since 1992.

Speaking about progress on their new album and the follow-up to 2015’s My Love Is Cool’, the band said earlier this year: “We’re thinking about it, we got some stuff in a vault. I think it’s exciting, hearing the rough – and this is by no means me saying we have new music – bad sketches of songs we’ve got at the moment, I am excited, you know it’d be amazing to get a new record out and we have been playing these songs for quite a long time.”
Starring Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle, T2 is due to be released in the UK on 27 January 2017.
