And he'll put out his debut solo record on the label...

WU-TANG CLAN founder RZA has become the latest star to sign with blossoming independent label SANCTUARY RECORDS.

The star will release ‘Birth Of A Prince’ , his debut solo record as RZA, on October 7 in the US. A UK release date has yet to confirmed.

The album will also feature collaborations with Wu-Tang‘s Dirt McGirt (Ol’ Dirty Bastard) and Ghostface Killah. McGirt will appear on the first single, ‘We Pop’.

“I believe this to be some of the best work I have ever done and I am especially proud,” RZA said.

“Our plan is to launch a whole new wave of Wu-Tang fever and this record is the wick. For Sanctuary and Wu Records, this is a great opportunity to get into some meaningful hip-hop in a big way.”

The rapper has previously released the albums ‘RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo’ and ‘Digital World According to RZA‘ under the Bobby Digital moniker. He also released ‘The World According to RZA‘ featuring collaborations with Saian Supa Crew and Curse.

RZA will also appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Quentin Tarantino film, ‘Kill Bill’, with the self-penned ‘Ode to Oren Ishii’ and a collaboration with film scorer Charles Bernstein on ‘Crane’/’White Lightning’.

Sanctuary also recently snapped up the signatures of Spiritualized, [a][/a] and Kelly Osbourne
