WU TANG TOYS ‘R’ US!

A range of dolls are on the way based on the wayward hip hop outfit...

Wu Tang Clan are launching their own action figure range, to tie in with their own comic book ‘NINE RINGS’.

Two figures of Clan producer RZA and Ghostface Killah will be premiered at the International Toy Centre in New York next week.

The ‘Nine Rings’ comic book is made by D-Boy Inc and Gibraltar Entertainment and features the nine-strong rap group involved in martial arts battles and sorcery.

As well as all this, RZA has just completed his first film score for ‘Mystery Train’ director Jim Jarmusch’s new movie ‘Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai’.

The movie stars Forrest Whitaker as a contract killer who listens to hip hop, lives by ancient samurai warrior teachings and takes on the present day mafia. RZA also gets a non-speaking cameo in the film.

Film producers Artisan Entertainment have described RZA’s soundtrack as “atmospheric – underscoring both the hitman’s Zen-like qualities and the lurking menace of his environment.” The film was premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival but is yet to get a UK release date.

Meanwhile, Ghostface Killah, aka Dennis Coles, releases his long-awaited second album ‘Supreme Clientele’ on February 28 through Epic.

The follow-up to his 1996 debut solo album ‘Ironman’ has been delayed for more than a year due to Ghostface being locked up in a New York State prison on robbery charges.
