Wu Tang Clan, members of whom released a new album RZA Presents Wu-Tang Killa Bees – ‘The Swarm Volume 1’ on Monday (August 10), have opened an office in Paris, their first in Europe. The aim is to develop links with the UK and Europe and sign local talent to their label, Wu-Tang Records. As a result, members of the New York collective plan to visit Europe more often to maintain a ‘hands on’ approach. The new album is the first release on Wu-Tang Records and comprises 16 new tracks, all produced by RZA. It features Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, plus new talents Sunz Of Man and Black Knights Of The North Star.
A Wu-Tang spokesman said the album was recorded this year but the Clan had avoided giving the release any pre-publicity so they could concentrate on running their label and launching their Paris office. He continued: “The Paris office is just in the fledgling stages, but they will probably be coming over here more often because of it.”
