The limited edition two-wheel rides are being sold to mark the rap collective's 20th anniversary
Wu Tang Clan are selling their own official bicycles to mark their 20th anniversary as a band.
The rap collective have collaborated with Arizona-based manufacturers The State Bicycle Co to produce their own limited edition two-wheel ride, which is now available to purchase for $599 (£377). See above for a picture of the snazzy black-and-yellow Wu-Tang Clan bike.
The State Bicycle Co’s website describes the collectable item as follows: “Wu-Tang Brand 20th Anniversary Ltd. Edition Bike is tastefully branded with Wu-Tang imagery from bars to bracket. An engraved Wu-Tang branded stem holds a set of bullhorn handlebars atop a boldly painted chromoly TIG-welded frame, all of which feature the unmistakable markings of the Wu.”
Explaining why it wanted to collaborate with the ‘Gravel Pit’ band, The State Bicycle Co adds: “When it comes to mobilising street culture Wu-Tang sets the standard for success and this is how State Bicycle Co pays tribute to the legends.”
Meanwhile, Wu Tang Clan unveiled a hologram of late band member Ol’ Dirty Bastard while playing at a US festival on Sunday night (September 8). The ODB hologram appeared to rap through his classic tracks ‘Shame On A Nigga’ and ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya’ during the band’s performance at the Rock The Bells bash in San Bernardino, California. The hologram will be used again during forthcoming Wu-Tang Clan sets at Rock The Bells events in San Francisco, Washington DC and Rutherford, New Jersey over the next three weekends.
