Plea deal sends Method Man back to school

Rapper must warn kids of dangers of drugs

As part of a plea agreement for drug-related charges, Method Man must visit several US high schools to teach students about the dangers of drugs.

The former Wu Tang Clan man was arrested on May 17 after Brooklyn, New York toll-booth workers reported smelling marijuana smoke coming from his vehicle.

After finding marijuana inside his SUV, police charged Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith, with driving under the influence of drugs and drug possession.

Now, the rapper must visit 15 city high schools to warn children to stay away from drugs.

“He’s thrilled to do it,” defense attorney Peter Frankel told the Associated Press. “He’s never been in trouble before. He’s not a stereotypical rapper.”
