He was charged with a litany of crimes including the aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and false imprisonment because of a series of alleged attacks on an ex-girlfriend.
XXXTentacion filed a document from that ex-girlfriend earlier this month, claiming that she no longer wants XXXTentacion to be prosecuted. However, the prosecutors believe the rapper illegally coerced the ex-girlfriend into signing the document and he has now been jailed without bail.
He is now being charged with seven new felonies as well as the initial charges of battery and false imprisonment. The new felonies include various degrees of witness tampering and witness harassment.
If he is convicted of all these charges, XXXTentacion could face decades in prison.
The 19-year-old Florida MC, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was charged in October 2016 with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering.
The reported victim found out she was pregnant by the rapper. Paranoid that it wasn’t his, Onfroy allegedly threatened to kill her and the baby before “elbowing, head-butting, and punching her”.
After that, the transcript shows, Onfroy confiscated her phone so she couldn’t call the police. The phone wasn’t returned until October 8, the day the rapper was arrested back in 2016. The victim escaped XXXTentacion’s apartment and was driven to the Miami Beach police department by an ex-boyfriend’s mother.
In the video, XXXTentacion is seen talking to two children in a packed out theatre. A Caucasian boy is then hung by XXXTentacion on a stage as an African-American boy looks on.
