Michael Boatwright claims that prosecutors have not handed over testimonies given by XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and the mother of his child, Jenesis Sanchez.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Boatwright claims that law enforcement provided 20 CDs that had documents related to the case as well as items of evidence. Additionally, he claims that his lawyer reviewed police reports and discovered that there was more evidence that hadn’t been handed over.
Another suspect in the murder of XXXTentacion, the 20-year-old rapper who was shot and killed while leaving a motorcycle dealership in Florida in June last year, has hired a forensic expert to help prove his innocence.
The note seen in the aforementioned court documents reveal that Dedrick Williams was granted $15,000 (approximately £11, 471) to buy the services of a forensic expert who will be able to testify for Williams in court.
Robert Allen and Trayvon Newsome have also been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm concerning the crime.
In January, XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Onfroy, posthumously became a father.
Onfroy’s girlfiend Jenesis Sanchez and the late rapper had agreed to call the baby Gekyume before Onfroy was murdered.
“XXXTentacion specifically chose this name for his first born son. His family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love,” a joint statement by Sanchez and the rapper’s mother read.
