MORE READING (AND LEEDS) SINGERS ANNOUNCED!

And they're joined by Frank Black, Lo-Fidelity Allstars and a cast of not-quite-literally thousands...

A host of new bands have been announced for the CARLING WEEKEND FESTIVALS in READING and LEEDS, including XZIBIT, FRANK BLACK, THE CULT, GENE and LO-FIDELITY ALLSTARS.

This year’s Carling Weekend takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 24-26), in Reading and Leeds, and is headlined by Eminem, Travis and the Manic Street Preachers.

New additions on the main stage today include The Cult, who are confirmed to appear below Queens Of The Stone Age (Reading 26, Leeds 24), US rapper Xzibit, who appears on the same day and Rancid, Weezer, Frank Black and …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, who make up the bill on the Manic Street Preachers‘ day (Reading 25, Leeds 26).

Other Main Stage additions include The Living End, Lo-Fidelity Allstars, Soulwax, Terris and System Of A Down. In addition, The Dandy Warholswill appear at the Leeds leg of the Carling Weekend.

A number of other bands have been confirmed to appear on the Evening Session Stage. Gene and Mark B & Blade will appear below Mercury Rev (Reading 26, Leeds 24), while other new additions come from Cosmic Rough Riders, Mull Historical Society, Moldy Peaches and Grand Theft Audio.
