Karen O gives the lowdown on the follow-up to ’Fever To Tell’...
Yeah Yeah Yeahs have finally started work on their second album – and KAREN O has said it’ll be completely different to 2002 debut ’FEVER TO TELL’.
The New York trio are now working on songs in the studio, but early signs are the record could be more mellow, MTV news reports.
Writing in an email, signer Karen O said: “There is some acoustic guitar — a first — and Brian [Chase] has been studying tabla, so we may throw some of that in there, too…Yeah Yeah Yeahs campfire singalongs, Yeah Yeah Yeahss go rustic.
“We’ve only just begun, and we’re playing around with new ideas. Yeah Yeah Yeahss have never done a studio album before, where we write all the songs in the studio. This is a radically different process with radically different results — or not. Too early to identify what direction it is going.”
