'Maps' ends The White Stripes' reign at the summit...

have kicked White Stripes’ raunchy ‘I JUST DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF’ off the top spot with ‘MAPS’ in this week’s NME CHART on MTV2.

Climbing from last week’s Number Seven position, the uber-cool New York trio claimed their first NME Chart Number One – ending the White Stripes’ two-week reign with the controversial video for ‘I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’ featuring a pole dancing Kate Moss.

This week’s chart also saw new entries from Jetplane Landing, Coral, Billy Talent, Interpol andThe Sleepy Jackson. The Darkness strengthened their presence in the Top Ten by moving up to Number Two with the video for ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’, while Snow Patrol‘s ‘Spitting Games’ dropped from the same position to Number Seven.
