Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O‘s song ‘All Is Love’ has been nominated for a Grammy after original nominee Miley Cyrus‘ entry was deemed ineligible.
The song, which features in Spike Jonze‘s film ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, has now been nominated in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.
Interscope Records spokesman Matt LaMotte announced the change on a blog maintained by Jonze, Weloveyouso.com. He stopped short of revealing why Cyrus‘ song – ‘The Climb’ – had been axed from the nominations list.
“In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song Written For A Soundtrack has been disqualified,” LaMotte wrote. “The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote count, which is Karen O And The Kids‘ ‘All is Love’.”
The change has also been noted on the official Grammy.com website.
The full list of Grammy nominations were announced earlier this month ahead of the ceremony taking place on Janaury 31.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs are also up for Best Alternative Music Album for ‘It’s Blitz!’.
