Young Fathers announce new album ‘Cocoa Sugar’ and share new single ‘In My View’

The Edinburgh trio are back with their third album

Young Fathers have announced their third album ‘Cocoa Sugar’ and shared a video for new single ‘In My View’.

The record follows 2014’s Mercury Prize-winning album ‘DEAD‘, and 2015’s ‘White Men Are Black Men Too‘.

‘Cocoa Sugar’ was written and recorded throughout last year, and features the track ‘Lord’, which was originally unveiled last year. The album will be released on March 9 via Ninja Tune, and is available for pre-order now.

The band have now shared a second track from the record in ‘In My View’. Watch a video directed by Jack Whiteley below.

The tracklist for ‘Cocoa Sugar’ is as follows:

  1. ‘See How’
  2. ‘Fee Fi’
  3. ‘In My View’
  4. ‘Turn’
  5. ‘Lord’

  7. ‘Wow’
  8. ‘Border Girl’
  9. ‘Holy Ghost’

The group contributed a track called ‘Only God Knows’ to the Trainspotting: T2 soundtrack last year. Speaking to NME at the Ivor Novello awards, Kayus Bankole said: “We did it when we were out in LA. It just felt like it fit the whole vibe of the film, so we gave it to Danny [Boyle, director], and he put it just at the end sequence bit of the film. That’s it – it stands alone with the film.”
