Yungblud teases new material with mysterious ‘I don’t wanna be a loner’ website

Yungblud has promised that his new material will emerge soon, with a new teaser video and mysterious website being unveiled.

The Doncaster artist, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, released his debut album ’21st Century Liability’ in summer 2018 – with NME hailing it as a “vital” and “an empathic ride” that explores issues faced by today’s young generation.

Now, after revealing that he’s been working with “hip-hop kids” and “hip-hop artists” on its follow-up, Yungblud has uploaded a video teasing a song that “shows my soul and where I’m from in three and a half minutes”. Captioning the post, Harrison also instructs his followers to visit a new website “for surprises leading up to the drop”. Check out the clip below.

In a later update, the musician confirmed that the single ‘Loner’ will be released tomorrow at midnight.

Upon visiting, fans are met with a flashing image of Yungblud stood in front of the word ‘Loner’ – before the statement “I don’t wanna be a loner” appears on screen. Mystery dates are then revealed, with one pointing to 9PM tonight (January 15).

Harrison first teased the new track on Jack Saunders’ Radio 1 show last month, airing a clip of the song and promising that it would be released in January.

Earlier this month, Yungblud said that his upcoming LP dips into the world of hip-hop and that he’s keen for its release. “I wanna drop something right away. Right now,” he said.

“And I’m working with hip-hop kids as well – hip-hop artists. I wanna be an artist on the whole, I don’t wanna be within a genre. I’m a rock and roll kid, but to me rock and roll isn’t just four idiots banging their instruments really loud.”
