The ex-One Direction star says being normal "worked out for about two weeks"
Speaking to Capital FM, the former 1D star said, “[Being normal] worked out for about two weeks and I got bored of it”.
“I don’t think I could ever go back to being completely normal. I guess that’s something I accepted, that this is as normal as it gets for me,”he added.
The news comes after Malik’s decision to quit One Direction in March 2015, stating that he wanted to be “a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight”.
Now 23, it appears the ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ singer has had a change of heart.
The Bradford-born musician who says he is no longer on speaking terms with his former bandmates, revealed his first solo single on Friday (January 29).
The track, ‘Pillowtalk’, has shot to number one in over sixty countries and has become an instant hit on iTunes, currently sitting on top of the charts globally. The video has already amassed over 19m views on YouTube, but has failed to score quite so well with critics.
Meanwhile, Malik has recently been criticised by his former manager Simon Cowell for his “rude” comments about his former band’s music.
The ex-Syco signee has called the music he made as a member of One Direction “generic as fuck” since their split and claims he now wants to make “real music“.
