Zayn Malik to release his “first autobiography” at the age of 23

The book is billed as an "intimate and raw scrapbook of his life"

Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is to release his “first autobiography” later this year, publishers Penguin Random House have announced.

Simply titled ZAYN, the memoir will be published on November 1. Malik said in a statement that he wrote his book so that his fans “can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says”.

Though billed as an “autobiography”, the book’s listing on Amazon suggests it will have more of a scrapbook format.

The listing calls the book a “collection of thoughts, inspiration, and never-before-seen personal photographs” as well as an “intimate and raw scrapbook of his life”.

It promises: “Never-before-released photos give readers insight to ZAYN, no-holds-barred. Gorgeously designed with hundreds of full-color (sic) photographs and Zayn’s notes, drawings, song lyrics, and personal stories, the book captures Zayn’s most private moments and his candid feelings on fame, success, music, and life.”

Zayn Malik quit One Direction in March 2015 and released his debut solo album ‘Mind Of Mine’ a year later. Both the album and its lead single ‘Pillowtalk’ topped the charts in the US and the UK.
