Oh No They Didn’t report that the song ‘Hurt’, attributed to Malik, has been registered on the BMI, leading keen fans to suggest the new track could drop anytime soon.
The song-writing credits on ‘Hurt’ include Chloe Angelides (Selena Gomez ‘Fetish’, Demi Lovato ‘You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore’), and the songwriting team Andrew Watt and Ali Tamposi, the writers behind Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ and ‘Wolves’ by Selena Gomez.
The DJ Burns is also credited on the details, having previously worked with Britney Spears and Kelis.
There are also rumours of a new album underway, with Linear Management writing in a now-deleted Tweet that the engineer and mixer Beatriz Artola was working on “an upcoming release” with Malik.
In September, Malik teased that a second album was set to be released a few months later, and that a name had already been set.
The new record’s first single, ‘Dusk Til Dawn’ featuring Sia, was released in Autumn, accompanied by a video by Mark Webb (500 Days Of Summer).
Malik released his debut album, ‘Mind Of Mine’, in March last year.
