The upcoming film drama Never Let Me Go, starring Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan, is set to open this year’s BFI London Film Festival on October 13.
The film, an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro (who wrote The Remains Of The Day), follows former boarding school pupils Kathy (Mulligan) and Ruth (Knightley) as they discover a dark secret about their future.
In addition to the two actresses, the film stars Andrew Garfield, who will play Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot of the franchise. Mark Romanek is the film’s director.
Never Let Me Go was adapted by novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland, who collaborated with Danny Boyle on Sunshine and 28 Days Later.
The launch of the film at the BFI London Film Festival will mark its European premiere and the stars are expected to be in attendance.
The full festival programme will be announced on September 8.
