The new start date for the season has also been released
A new teaser trailer has been released for the next series of Narcos: Mexico before its relaunch on Netflix later this year.
Two new first look images for the fourth season have also been revealed ahead of the new season’s premiere, which Netflix confirmed will take place on November 16.
The new teaser shows the first footage of new stars Diego Luna and Michael Peña. Luna will play Guadalajara crime boss Félix Gallardo and Peña will play DEA agent, Kiki Camarena.

The new season will return to a new location and involve a “new empire” according to the trailer, which also reveals that the action has now shifted to the 1980’s.
Camarena moves from California to Mexico with his family to take on the rising drug trafficking challenge. Meanwhile, the Guadalajara Cartel moves to take control over the criminal enterprise.
In a new statement, Netflix said: “Narcos: Mexico will explore the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots, beginning at a time when the Mexican trafficking world was a loose and disorganised confederation of independent growers and dealers.”
“Witness the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo (Luna) takes the helm, unifying traffickers in order to build an empire.”
Earlier this year, it was announced that the show will be getting a video-game adaptation. “We’re looking forward to creating a game that matches the fantastic storyline and gritty action of the Netflix series,” said Curve Digital’s Brynley Gibson. “We’re tremendously excited and have some amazing gameplay elements in the works that will please both fans of the show and gamers.”
“Narcos is a fantastic license for us to work with,” added Curve Digital MD, Jason Perkins. “This critically acclaimed show from Gaumont lends itself perfectly to a video game execution and we’re excited and proud to be bringing this to market.”
The first two seasons of the TV series focused on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar with both being a critical success.
Narcos: Mexico will be available to stream on Netflix from November 16.
