Orlando Bloom returning to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise

Film due out July 7, 2017

Orlando Bloom is returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean cast for the latest instalment of franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Having starred in the first three movies of the series, the 38-year-old Englishman sat out 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. But as reported by Empire, Disney boss Alan Horn, speaking at D23 on Saturday, confirmed Bloom will be back.

He joins Johnny Depp, once again playing Captain Jack Sparrow, and fellow original cast member Geoffrey Rush. Oscar-winner Javier Bardem and The Maze Runner‘s Kaya Scodelario co-star.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will follow Jack Sparrow as he tries to track down the Trident of Poseidon, an object that grants anyone who wields it total mastery over the seas. The movie due out July 7, 2017.
