Over 33,000 people join Facebook event for Prince Harry’s stag-do

Thousands of Britons have pledged to celebrate Prince Harry’s stag-do after clicking ‘attending’ on a spoof Facebook event that was set up only hours after his engagement was announced.

An impressive 33,000 Brits have stated their intention to hold one last hurrah with the party-loving prince after it was revealed that he is to tie the knot with Suits actress Meghan Markle.

A description on the event states: “Bunga Bunga Prince is getting married! Let’s celebrate with him!

“Let it be known that marriage unites people… people from every tribe, nation, and meme page… come together… to celebrate love.”

“The wedding is, unfortunately, not rumoured to be on the Tube. We wish them the best anyway, we suppose”, a quote from TfL memes stated.

It also includes a link to a fake hen do for Meghan Markle, which will be ‘held’ on Hollywood Boulevard only a week before.

“Free GIN!”, one attendee suggested in a post on the event page.

Another said: “Can’t wait to do shots with Charles.”

In reality, Prince Harry’s wedding is likely to be quite a bit tamer for most of us, after it was announced that we probably won’t receive a Bank Holiday to celebrate it.

Yesterday, a Downing Street spokesperson confirmed that there is currently “no plans” for a bank holiday on the day of Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.
