Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon remake Go West’s ‘King of Wishful Thinking’ video

The actor and chat show host made a shot-for-shot remake of the Pretty Woman soundtrack favourite

Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon have remade Go West’s video for 1990 song ‘King of Wishful Thinking’.

The remake, which features Rudd and Fallon in shot-for-shot scenes of the pop duo’s original, was shot for Fallon’s chat show. The video also features a cameo by Roots.

It’s not the first time the pair have teamed up to remake a classic video. When Rudd appeared on Fallon’s Tonight Show in 2016, the duo donned jumpsuits and mustaches to recreate Styx’s 1981 video for ‘Too Much Time on My Hands.’

This time, they chose Go West’s track made famous for it’s inclusion in the soundtrack for 1990 film Pretty Woman, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

Speaking of the video, Fallon said: “That’s one of the best, oddest videos I think we’ve ever made.” While Rudd replied: “Do you think there were storyboards to that video? They really went into a white empty space and said, ‘We have hockey players. We got ballet dancers. We have a guy that kinda looks like Roy Orbison on a catamaran.”

Rudd appeared on the chat show to promote his latest film, Mute, which premieres on Netflix. The sci-fi thriller was directed by David Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, and also stars Alexander Skarsgård and Justin Theroux.
