‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ has got a new release date

The sequel to the hugely-popular 2010 game has had its expected arrival date pushed back a number of times

After years of speculation, Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set for release in October 2018.

The long-anticipated video game – a sequel to the 2010 title Red Dead Redemption – has been made by Rockstar Games, who are also behind the hugely-successful Grand Theft Auto series.

After the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped all the way back in October 2016, a release date for the game – Fall 2017 – came and went without its grand arrival. A second trailer for the game was also released last year.

However, Rockstar have today (February 1) announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set for release on October 26.

The company addressed the latest delay in the game’s release with a statement – which also shared some brand new screenshots from the forthcoming title.

“We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish,” Rockstar’s statement explained about the extra delay.

“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it,” it added – before noting that more information on the game will be made available in “the coming weeks”.
