The long-awaited sequel to the 2010 game is here
Red Dead Redemption 2 was finally released today (October 26) after it was pushed back a number of times.
The long-anticipated video game – a sequel to the 2010 title Red Dead Redemption – has been made by Rockstar Games, the company behind the hugely-successful Grand Theft Auto series.
Set in 1899, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of former outlaw John Marston, whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his vigilante services.

Gamers are already sharing their thoughts on Red Dead Redemption 2 and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
One user shared a screenshot of the game, writing “This is truly gorgeous. Loving Red Dead Redemption 2 so far!” while another said: “Rockstar sparred no detail on Red Dead Redemption 2. The graphics, lighting, animation, music, voice acting are all superb. This game is truly incredible.”
“Red Dead Redemption 2 is astounding! Wait wait.. Spectacular! I haven’t had a game suck me in like this since the first one. It lived up to the expectations in every possible way and then some. Thank you @RockstarGames for my new cause of lack of sleep for the foreseeable future,” another added.

Others have praised gamers for taking time off work just to play the game. Comedian Rob Beckett said: “If you queued up at midnight to buy Red Dead Redemption 2 and have booked Friday off work to play it all day you are an absolute legend and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.”
Some gamers shared images of cowboys in anticipation of the release.
