Rick and Morty has been named the ‘deadliest’ show in streaming

There's more deaths per episode than The Walking Dead

Rick and Morty has more deaths than any other show available on streaming services, according to a report by BuzzBingo.

With an average of 26.1 deaths per episode, the much-loved animated show is considered the ‘deadliest’ out of any show across streaming platforms.

Between its three seasons the show has seen 808 deaths in just 31 episodes. Westworld is only just behind with 25.9 deaths per episode, while The Walking Dead has 23.2.

Earlier this year, the soundtrack to the cult show was released by Sub Pop on double vinyl.

The 26 tracks that sit on two sides of vinyl will feature compositions by the show’s composer Ryan Elder, fan favourites such as ‘Get Schwifty’, and new songs from the likes of clipping. and Chad VanGaalen.

Adult Swim confirmed in May that a mammoth 70 more episodes of the show have been commissioned.

There’s only been 31 episodes of the show so far, meaning that Rick and Morty could be on the air for a long time to come – although it’s still not known yet how many episodes season four will have (more on that below).

Co-creator Justin Roiland marked the news of the 70-episode commission on May 10 with this special drawing of the titular characters.

As for a release date, fans have been told only that it will be “a really long time” until the new episodes air.

The show’s Twitter account released a short teaser clip in August 2018 that sees the dynamic duo transform into superheroes (and reference fan favourite Pickle Rick, too). It’s still not clear whether the below 15-second video is actually a trailer for season four, however.
