Rihanna pulled out of her Grammys performance through illness last night.
Billboard reports that Rihanna was due to perform ‘Kiss It Better’ at the ceremony but failed to perform after being diagnosed with bronchitis and put on vocal rest.
A spokesperson for the singer said that a doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours and that she “was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords.” Although Rihanna had been on medication for three days, the antibiotics “did not kill the infection adequately.”
The last minute nature of the cancelation was refelected in the fact that Rihanna turned up Los Angeles’ Staples Center to rehearse her performance before the decision was made.
#NAVY so sorry I couldn't be there ….. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.
