The Rolling Stones share new song from their blues album – listen

It's a cover of 'Hate To See You Go' by the legendary Little Walter

The Rolling Stones have shared a new song from their upcoming album of blues covers, ‘Blue & Lonesome’.

‘Hate To See You Go’ is one of two songs written by legendary blues musician Little Walter to feature on the band’s first studio album in over a decade.

‘Blue & Lonesome’ will be released on December 2 through Polydor.

According to a press release, the 12-track album was recorded in just three days at British Grove Studios in west London and sees the band return to “their roots and the passion for blues music”.

‘Blue & Lonesome’ also features covers of songs by Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor and Howlin’ Wolf. It sees the band joined on record by touring members Darryl Jones (bass), Chuck Leavell (keyboards) and Matt Clifford (keyboards). Eric Clapton features on two tracks too.

Co-producer Don Was says: “This album is manifest testament to the purity of their love for making music, and the blues is, for the Stones, the fountainhead of everything they do.”

The band previously shared a snippet of the track ‘Just Your Fool’.
