Sacha Baron Cohen joins cast of Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’

'Ali G' and 'Borat' creator is set to play a gambler in the new revenge thriller

Sacha Baron Cohen has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s forthcoming western Django Unchained.

The actor, who is best known as the creator of Ali G and Borat, will play the part of ‘a gambler’ in the revenge thriller, reports Empire Magazine.

Jamie Foxx was recently confirmed to play the lead role in the film which is scheduled to open in cinemas on Christmas Day next year and will begin shooting in January.

The movie is set in the American South of the 1800’s and follows a freed slave (Foxx) who partners with a German bounty hunter, played by Christoph Waltz, in order to find his wife, who has been captured by a Francophile plantation owner, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Other cast members for Django Unchained include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell, James Remar, Tom Savini, Anthony LaPaglia and Don Johnson.

Original cast member Kevin Coster was forced to quit the film earlier this year due to “scheduling conflicts”.
