Is Sacha Baron Cohen working on a film with OJ Simpson?

This is unexpected...

Character comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly shelled out £15,000 for convicted armed robber OJ Simpson to make an appearance in his latest film.

Borat creator Baron Cohen reportedly donned a curly wig and glasses before breaking into Simpson’s Las Vegas hotel room for a ‘stunt’ that was agreed in advance for the huge sum.

“OJ would not even get in the hotel room until he was paid a sackload of cash. There was no way Sacha could have got OJ into the room without paying money”, a source revealed to the Mail on Sunday.

When approached about the project, Simpson said: “‘I know him well. I met him. Nice guy”. He did not confirm if he had been paid.

Simpson was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in a 1995 criminal trial, before a 1997 civil case found him to be liable for their deaths.

He was also released from a Nevada prison in 2017 after serving nine years for armed robbery.

Simpson’s involvement reportedly comes as part of Greed, Baron Cohen’s latest film which sees him going back to donning a thorough disguise to fool members of the public.

He will reportedly take up the role of an unscrupulous billionaire who is loosely based on shamed BHS tycoon Philip Green.

Baron-Cohen will be joined by director Michael Winterbottom and producer Melissa Parmenter, who previously worked with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon on The Trip, The Trip To Spain and The Trip To Italy.
