‘Scream 4’ scoops weekend box office number one

The horror sequel outstrips 'Red Riding Hood' and 'Your Highness'

Scream 4 has topped the UK box office on its opening weekend.

The horror sequel opened on Friday (April 15), reuniting original cast members Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette alongside new talent like Heroes star Hayden Panetierre.

Wes Craven‘s movie had limited impact in the US, but in the UK it has comfortably claimed the number one spot, raking in over £2million and beating other high profile new releases Red Riding Hood and Your Highness.
