Screenwriter for ‘Scream 4’ quits?

Problems mount for new sequel

Rumours are circulating that writer Kevin Williamson is no longer attached to the Scream 4 production.

The first two Scream movies were directed by Wes Craven, with Williamson writing the script. 2000’s Scream 3, the least successful of the franchise, was scripted by Ehren Kruger.

However rumours have surfaced that Williamson has left the latest project, and Kruger has returned to take over script duties.

Meanwhile Wes Craven claimed on Twitter that “I have not been given control of the script”.

Lauren Graham has already left the project, citing “scheduling difficulties”, while Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere is reportedly unhappy with the “dumbing down” of her character.
