A revival of Sister, Sister is in the works, according to one of the original show’s stars.
The cult children’s sitcom initially ran on ABC from its debut in 1994 until it switched to The WB a year later, with the show spanning six seasons before ending in May 1999.
Jackée Harry – who played Lisa Landry, Tia and Tamera’s adoptive mother, on Sister, Sister – has now said that a reboot of the show is in the works. Speaking to Steve Harvey on his Steve TV show, Harry confirmed that “yeah, it’s happening!”
“I’m excited. Tia and Tamera… [they’re] my babies, too. They won’t leave me alone. I can’t get rid of none of these women!”
However, ABC has already confirmed to PEOPLE that they are not behind the revival of Sister, Sister. Further details about the reboot have yet to emerge.
Back in July, Tamera Mowry-Housley told PEOPLE that she had been in talks about the revival of Sister, Sister along with her sister and co-star Tia Mowry-Hardrict.
“We’re meeting with writers and producers because we wanna make sure it’s all a great fit, but we are progressively moving forward to make this happen,” Mowry-Housley said. “We want to make sure that it is great TV and that it’s gonna be fun.
“We appreciate all of our fans’ eagerness because we are just as eager as you guys are.”
